Prof. Alois Jungbauer

Alois holds a doctorate in food technology and biotechnology and is a retired professor of Downstream Processing at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, also serving as an adjunct professor at the University of Adelaide. He is engaged in bioprocess engineering of proteins, viruses, and gene therapy vectors, having authored over 400 papers, 17 patents, and 12 book chapters in the field. Additionally, Alois co-founded the Biotechnology Journal and is the Vice President of the European Society of Biochemical Engineering Science.

Priv.Doz. Astrid Dürauer

Astrid is a key researcher and lecturer for bioprocess engineering at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna and within the Austrian Centre of Industrial Biotechnology (acib). She is head deputy of the working group “Protein technology and downstream processing”. Currently, her main focus is integrated process development considering the engineering aspect of non-chromatographic downstream processes, their scalability with special interest on miniaturization and automation as well as the set-up of online monitoring and control strategies

Professor Gerald Striedner

Gerald is an Associate Professor at the Department of Biotechnology (BOKU), head of the working group microbial fermentation, and principal investigator in the Austrian Center of Industrial Biotechnology (ACIB). His working group has established an integrated systems approach for bioprocess development and is focused on the implementation of PAT and QbD concepts in bioprocessing and rational host cell design. CHO, E. coli, insect cells and vero cell lines are used as expression systems for production of a representative set of biopharmaceuticals (mABs, Fabs, scFvs, VLPs, DNA).

Dr. Klaus Graumann

Klaus has more than 20 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry (Boehringer Ingelheim, Novartis/Sandoz) and held different leadership positions in technical development and technical project management functions for innovative biologics and biosimilars. Since 2018, he is active as a startup entrepreneur in the field of stem cell-based technologies and as an independent biotech consultant.

Dr. Markus Luchner

Markus is expert in bioprocess engineering and fermentation technology at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences Vienna. He is head of the “BioIndustrial Pilot Plant” at the Department of Biotechnology. He is also expert in online monitoring systems, process modeling and control, process automation systems, scale-up and large scale production in a GMP environment

DI Martin Mayer

With over 20 years of automation experience in different fields including traffic control systems, paper and steel production automation as well as biotechnology, Martin developed a true passion for business development. Within his current position at Zeta GmbH he is responsible for driving digitalization and smart engineering services
